INTRODUCTION

The Long-Distance Training Solution™ will teach you basic principles that you will need in order to shoot out to long distances. In the past, the only way to train for long distance was to actually shoot on long distance ranges, which are few and far between. Practicing at them is not possible for the vast majority of us.
That is why we developed the Long-Distance Training Solution™.
This Introduction and the subsequent pages are presented in a very basic way. Long-range shooting is rapidly becoming very popular, and many casual shooters are just starting out in the long-range world. The explanations we use are simplified and may be boring to experienced shooters but please understand that many shooters have not had much exposure to terms like MilliRADian, DOPE, or even ballistics. For the experienced shooters, think of this as a refresher course in the fundamentals of long-range shooting.
It is important to understand that long-range shooting involves much more than a shooters ability to hit a bullseye at 100 yards. External environmental factors are limited when shooting at 100 yds but become more apparent at long range. Here are a few of those factors:
-
Spin Drift - The tendency of a bullet to move in the direction of the bullet’s rotation.
-
Coriolis Effect – Point of impact shift caused by the earth’s rotation moving the target from your point of aim during flight.
-
Wind deflection – While generally minimal at 100 yards, can be substantial at long range.
-
Aerodynamic jump - The vertical deflection of a spinning bullet caused by a crosswind at the muzzle interacting with the bullet's gyroscopic stability.
-
Launch dynamics - Primary caused by gravity pulling the bullet downward including downward drag and wind deflection.
These are just a few aspects that effect long range shooting that unfortunately cannot be addressed with the Long-Distance Training Solution™. Even though you may only have 100 yards to work with, you can still train on some of the fundamentals of precision shooting.
This system will teach you the fundamentals of the following:
BALLSITICS • DOPE • MOA • MIL • ELEVATION & WINDAGE
Using this system, you will learn:
-
What these terms mean and how they relate to your long distance goals
-
The basics of bullet trajectories, and how to compensate for that by adjusting your scope values
-
How to read (and make your own) ballistics table specific to your rifle and ammo..... and much, MUCH more.
